On March 31, 2009 at 825pm, Surrey RCMP received a report that two males had been shot and were enroute to a local area hospital. Police were in attendance at the hospital on another matter and met the vehicle as it arrived.

Investigators learned that this dark SUV with 4 occupants was travelling on 72nd Avenue near 132nd Street when a person or persons in an unidentified vehicle suddenly opened fire on them. Two of these occupants, men in their 20's, were struck. One of the occupants called 911 as they drove to the hospital.

One victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries while the other was treated and released.

The occupants of the vehicle were known to police and it is believed that this was a targeted shooting. Surrey Serious Crime Section is investigating. Anyone with information, especially any person who saw the incident as it happened on 72 Avenue is asked to call Surrey RCMP or Crimestoppers.
